This session was, in a word…enchanting. I remember as we were shooting it, I was thinking, “Man…this is some really beautiful light.” And after snapping photos of each of the kids, I would look at the back of the camera and think, “Geez. Every face they make is captivating.”
I met Charity and Matt through my friend Holly (really great friends refer really great people…just a small lesson I’m learning over and over again in this business). We had never met before the shoot and when I showed up, we weren’t even sure if we would be able to do it.
Their middle son Grant was just really not feeling well. But that kid was a trooper. He agreed to take some photos AND smiled his way through the whole thing. I was extremely impressed. Their oldest Steven was full of energy and I loved all the photos of him running around. And little Charlotte – she was just about the sweetest little girl I’ve ever met. I could photograph that red hair every day and never get sick of it.
This session was the last fall shoot I was able to pull off. It snowed in Denver shortly after and I’m so thrilled we still had the beautiful colors for these!
We walked along a gorgeous path at a local park, through some wooded areas and then ended with some fun by feeding the ducks at the pond. Seriously, everything felt like a movie. I hope the photos reflect just how great the afternoon was!
Matt and Charity, thanks SO much for the opportunity to photograph your family. This was one of my very favorite shoots of the whole year! Thanks so much for being flexible and easy-going; you made my job incredibly easy!
Without further ado…the Smiths:
